Problem Note 43493: System message IEC988I written to the JES SYSMSGS file in z/OS 1.12

Beginning with z/OS 1.12, you might see the message ID IEC988I written to the JES SYSMSGS file referencing the CONFIG DD name at your site. Here is an example:

   IEC988I jjj,sss,ddn(-#),dev,volser,hlq.CNTL DATA SET NOT UNALLOCATED
   DURING CLOSE RC 04
In the text of the message, the placeholders are defined as follows:

jjj is the job name.
sss is the step name.
ddn(-#) is the DD name and concatenation number, if applicable.
dev is the device number.

This is an informational message and can be safely ignored. See the IBM documentation for additional information about this message.

In SAS 9.2 and later, the IEC988I message does not appear.
